The Regulations

INGUB155The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations came into force on 1st January 1993 (some minor changes were made in 2002).They seek to protect the health of workers by reducing risks from VDU work. Briefly, the Regulations require employers to:

DSE can apply to the use of Computers, Laptops and hand held devices such as a Blackberry.  They all represent a potential risk to users if care is not taken to ensure correct posture or if the equipment is used excessively without appropriate breaks.
